Twitter Password Protection Vulnerability

Twitter have identified a number of ‘torrent’ sites that have been set up on the internet to specially skim usernames and passwords. The sites come across as index of links to TV, film and music files but scammers are then able to use the data to get on to sites such as Twitter as many people use the same logon for multiple services. Twitter itself have reset the accounts of those which have been effected and have issued a statement encouraging users to use different passwords and login details for different accounts. This advice is echoed by experts in the security field who say the problem is also effecting the banking sites.
