A lawyer who was made redundant during the financial downturn has had her benefits removed because she was classed as earning a few cents from her personal blog through Google ad sense. Like many amateur bloggers she was hoping to generate some extra money when she signed up which allowed Google adsense to place adverts next to her postings. She received a small fee which totalled $238.75 in 6 months – just slightly more than a dollar a day. Once this amount was declared to the new York state department of labour is now reviewing her $405 a week benefits. The department said that this was unknown territory and would now be looking into the area.
