Hackers get into a research unit
Hackers have managed to get into the e-mail system of one of the leading climate research unit. Emails from the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) including personal emails appeared on the internet last Thursday. A spokesman from the university has confirmed that the system had been hacked and information taken without permission. The police have been informed and the university has launched a investigation. The researchers at the university specialise in one of the worlds leading research bodies on climate change. A computer security expert suggested that Decembers climate summit in Copenhagen made the headlines around the world increasing the universities profile and making it a possible target.
